    Frugal Corner Robertson red

Has any bought a Robertson red kilt or material from Frugal Corner? It's shown here: http://www.thefrugalcorner.com/kilts13oz.htm

Is the red as oversaturated in real life as it is in the photos? Or is that just a bad pic?

Wow. I didn't even know they had a Robertson Red.

I'd be very interested in the answer to this question!

I would hope it's just a bad pic, but compared to the other tartans pictured - I can tell they're non-wool, but they look close to normal. The Robertson looks like modern green, ancient red, and neon blue.
And it's not just their website. Their Robertson kilts keep showing up in my automatic eBay searches, and all of them look like that.

Ok, this is my opinion but:

I have a piece of it and it is, if possible, even worse in person. I'll try to capture the, um, essence in a photo and post it, although I will be at a funeral tomorrow and will not get to it soon.

I am guessing that you will not be wearing that kilt to the funeral...

Thanks, I didn't have time this morning to switch out to a muted buckle, I would have preferred that. But I like that Lamont because you can wear brown or black with it.

Oh, we are supposed to be talking about the Robertson red!..sorry, I will get a photo up of it soon.

    OK,

The promised photo of the Frugal Corner Robertson Red. It is VERY hard to photograph. It's not the red so much as the electric BLUE. I can't even get my camera to focus on it!

Here is a shot of it outdoors on an overcast day. On the right, the glowing FC fabric. On the left, Marton Mills poly viscose. I am actually not a big fan of the P-V either, as the red is too washed out for my liking. A plain old (new) blue tarp is at the bottom of the photo in case that helps orient you in the color world.

Also the selvedge of the FC Robertson is not very useful. I had purchased a piece of Clergy from them and it looks pretty good and has a decent selvedge, so I was doubly disappointed with the Robertson.
