MacArthur has arrived!!!!
Hey, there!!
When I arrived home today, there was a tall, thin box on the front porch of the convent. I figured it was probably something for church. When I retrieved the box, it was from Ontario...Barrie, Ontario, to be exact! You know what that means!!!
This box contained a 16 oz REAL WOOL MACARTHUR (!!!!!!) kilt from the sale at Burnetts and Struth! It is beautiful and heavy and in my own family tartan...something I never thought I'd have!
AND, while I really don't have the money for such a luxury, I knew that this opportunity was far too good to pass up...possibly even a once and a life time type of thing! SO, I went out and pawned my classical guitar and a Slingerland marching bass drum. I figure that I'm devoting my time to learning the pipes, I'll never learn the guitar, anyway...it might as well be useful (and useful it was, in helping me acquire this beautiful MacArthur!)!
The new kilt fits like a dream and will make its world debut tomorrow night at Mass...I'm scheduled to read, and I'm a musician every Saturday night, so it will be the perfect occasion for my new MacArthur to be introduced to the world!
I KNOW, I KNOW...pictures...it will be awhile because Sister Joan is out of town. She is my technology guru...she has the needed camera AND knows how to get the photos from the camera to the computer.
BUT, I just thought I'd share this lovely news about an amazing new kilt. I'm considering the MacArthur to be my present to myself...2008 is my ten year anniversary as a Sister of St. Joseph!

Congratulations, Pipesndrumsnun, I'm very happy for you.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
