Kilt hose observations
So I've noticed something while looking through photos both here and online. Actually, this applies pretty well to the real world too. Guys will have a new kilt outfit, say a Prince Charlie set or something like that. They look good, everything is where it needs to be, and they're obviously proud of the kilt. That's all fine, but one thing never sits right with me.
Kilt hose.
There are far too many pairs of cheap kilt hose in the world. And it's one of the most noticeable things in a kilt outfit. You know the kind I'm talking about. The all white kilt hose that are almost see through and the turn-down on the top only just covers the flashes garter.
Cheap kilt hose really brings down an outfit, in my opinion, and if people only invested another $5 or $10 in their kilt hose, I think the outfit altogether would look much better. I always look for thickness in kilt hose. Sport Kilt's regular hose might be great for athletes, but they're thin, almost see-through when stretched, and the turn-down on top is pathetic. BUT, for just $6 more dollars you can get the "premium" kilt hose, which look much better. Here's a comparison of the two.

Notice how the turn down on the top is longer, the ribbing makes the hose look thicker, and it comes in COLORS. Guys shouldn't be afraid of colored kilt hose. But mind you, those two photos are just to make my point. There's MUCH better hose out there.
Anyway, just my two cents. And, if I may, I have to say that Steve's Heritage Hose from Freedom Kilts are top notch. The gray ones I bought are easily my most-worn kilt hose. I'd really love some Balmoral hose from the Scottish Tartans Museum, but unfortunately, they're a bit beyond my price range.
