    Sporran wallet?

The last hold-over from my pants days is my wallet. It holds the normal stuff - photos, ID cards, credit cards, money. But it is square and intended for a pants pocket. I combine that with a spring top change pouch.... it works OK - but I would like something better.

I have been looking for a sporran specific wallet, but with little success. The search engine of x-marks has revealed a couple of remarks on this subject, but not many recommendations. However the "taxi-wallet" looks like it might work.

Bear used to make his sporganizer and it looks pretty good, but he seems to still be getting his act together.

Has anyone discovered a wallet that works well for the pantless?

I remember my Father-in-law had a pretty good one with a built-in change compartment, but have been unable to locate one like it.

    What are you guys using?

    Hello James,

A sporran wallet of some sort used to be advertised here not so long ago.I have never actually seen one,but if I recall correctly they were made(?)by the same people who make the "kilt Karrier".Hope this helps.

I use a square pants pocket wallet. and its not very good because the brown SWK day sporran I have is too overpacket when I have to wear it, I hate to say it but I almost prefer to wear my utilikilt over any of my tradtionals just because of the pockets. Usually in my sporran I have; keys, wallet (thats over stuffed to begin with), 75 or so cents, 160gb Ipod, earbud headphones, flip cellphone, and a small victornox pocketknife.

I agree, the need for a small wallet is there. I think if one could be created to work best for a sporran and ok in pants I would buy it.

In everyday life I carry a front pocket wallet because I have back problems that a regular wallet aggravates. It is just slightly larger that a credit card and you can get them in varying capacities to regulate the depth, it also has a money clip on the back. It fits in my basic sporran from Frugal along with my cell phone and keys, although with a larger sporran I could probably stuff alot more in there. The one I have now is from Fossil, and I have seen them at most large department stores. Hope this helps.

What does everyone need to fit into a wallet? In mine for example, (standard tri-fold wallet)

1 - @ 11 "cards" (credit cards, atm card, library card, kroger card, scuba card, sears craftsman card,....)

    2 - Photo holder

    3 - Dollar Bill pocket

    4 - Business cards

I carry change in a squeeze purse or when in pants, in my pocket. Is it important to have the change purse attached to the wallet?

What other items are we carrying in a wallet? and what features would be needed?

I suggest the money clip as well. I don't have one, but they look really good for sporrans.

I'm familiar with the SWK "day sporran." And I say: you need a new SPORRAN, not a smaller wallet! You carry about what I do in my sporran, and I don't know how you're getting all that stuff in there. haha.

Sounds about like my wallet. Ends up about 1.25" thick

I can hear the gears grinding clear out here in Colorado

For me, a sporran wallet would have room for my drivers license, 2 to 4 credit cards, a dollar bill pocket and probably a coin pocket (makes it easier than trying to find 2 things in the sporran). Business cards I keep in a seperate case. Depending on the length of it, a place to slide a pen in would be handy but not necessary. The coin pocket would also not be necessary.

I use a moneyclip wallet. Has a "side pocket" 3 card slots, and a clip on the other side. I originally bought it for use w/ the sporran, but it worked out so well and has enough room while still being thin that I use if everyday now. (bought it at Kohls)
