Kilted Friday - encounter with the monks
Paul X608 and myself were walking in the historic section of Fredericksburg headed to one of my favorite watering holes. It had been a hectic work week for us both. We each had on kilts tailored by Rocky of USA Kilts.
We had received a number of smiles and hellos from the ladies, when we became surrounded by a group of orange robed Buddist monks. They wanted to know if we were from Scotland. It must have been a sight for the tourists two kilted guys and Buddist monks!

That definetely would have been a sight for the tourists!!! I wonder if anyone makes kilts that are the same color as the Buddhist monks robes?? You could really make friends with them then!

Cool story, thanks for sharing it.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Yeah, the monks were cool, but I'm not too sure I'd want a kilt that color, lol. Did you happen to hear the lady whistle behind us right before that? Thanks again for a fine evening, Ern. And sorry about being so chatty. Combination of a long day and a big drink

Now that you mention it, in the deep recesses of my mind I do recall a wolf whistle. How flattering! Apologies not necessary. Fiona was glad to see me.

I seem to recall that there's a tartan for a Buddhist monastery in Scotland, which incorporates saffron and maroon.

the haircut of a monk
That is so cool, two worlds united in unbifurcated garments on the streets of Fredericksburg, almost sounds like a movie. I have the haircut of a monk, but not the lifestyle.

The color conglomerations and other life style mixes lend many ideas for my imagination.
Wish you had a photo.

Me, too Jay! I had my digital in my sporran but didn't think to snap. Bet that wolf whistling gal would have been happy to oblige. I think I was too focused in getting Paul a drink. He was really bummed out!
