And this shall be for music, when no one else is near; The fine song for singing, the rare song to hear; That only I remember, that only you admire; Of the broad road that stretches and the roadside fire. (RL Stevenson)

you are most welcome.
Now out of all of these I personally have only been to The Great American Irish Festival...its a bit out of the way for most in NYC, but it is held over a weekend and they do allow camping from what I remember.
either way, its a great show!!
and the music rocks. everything from traditional Celtic folk music to bands like The Elders, The Prodigals, and Enter the Haggis.
and the vendor area is great too, traditional Irish sweaters, Bodhrans, practice chanters, shortbread, and welsh cakes (like scones but thinner and sweeter).

Thank you for the information. Altamont is a great games - I don't know if they're still having beers & cheers in the beer tent on the second day, but that was a lot of fun.

I've been to Liverpool, Altamont and Hunter Mountain numerous times. Cortland once.
Cortland has a pretty weak festival, but the concert at the end is awesome. The rest are all great. I prefer Liverpool to Altamont for games, just because Longbranch Park is so much more pleasant than the dusty fairgrounds in Altamont.
You excluded one of my favorites, the East Durham Irish Festival, held every year on Memorial Day weekend. http://www.east-durham.org/memfestival/index.htm

Sorry Bob...
I didn't mean to leave that out. I'll have to try to make it to that one this year.
but I will most certainly be going to The Great American Irish Festival in Herkimer County come hell or high water....
and in the Mohawk Valley, high water is an extreme possibility!!

No apology necessary. I'm glad I could tell you about a new festival. Maybe I'll see you in Frankfort. I went to college at Herkimer and I still have friends in the area. I've been wanting to check that one out.
