    Kilts at the Nascar Race

I'm watching the prerace show, because there is nothing else to do, and during the performance of a country singer there is a flash of tartan and a piper on stage playing along with the song. I hope I wasn't dreaming.

Boy you were desperate for entertainment. I can barely stand to hear to Darrell Waltrip during the race, much less put up with his Bovine Scattinism during a pre-race show.

Didn't see the pre-race or the race, it was a plate race, don't watch them...since restrictor plates go against the fundamental objective of racing (to go fast).

However...I have seen pipers at a few pre-race ceremonies over the years. Not as many as it should be, but they hae shown up.

Please don't think I am a diehard nascar fan. I was home sick and just warming up the TV for NHRA Drag Racing on ESPN. I aagree with your comment about DW. He was doing the Boogity blah blah during the song. The saving grace for the whole thing was the piper.

The household I moved into a few years ago has always been HUGE sports fans, including NASCAR. I have resisted all of those left turns. That is, until Dario Franchitti. As one of my friends say, "A Scot, with an Italian name, driving for the rednecks. What's not to Love?!".
