    In Praise of Older Women

My wife, who is older than me, planned and pulled off quite the surprise party for my 50th birthday. A number of good friends showed up this evening to help me celebrate the occasion.

The Wizard of BC was the first to arrive and I did not clue in to anything unusual as he had two kilts that I ordered. He presented them to me and was very evasive when I inquired as to what he was doing away from home.

Soon the other guests arrived and things got under way. The food and drink were marvelous and the company exquisite.

    Now onto the kilt stuff.

Here I am with my darling spouse about to tuck into the grand dinner she prepared.

And the Wizard as he enjoys a plate of curried shrimp.

And finally, the rabble of myself sporting a new kilt by Freedom Kilts, my neighbour Bill who was converted on St. Pats this year and some old guy who jumped into the picture.

It was a most enjoyable evening even though it is a week early. Oh, BTW, the other new kilt will be seen soon. It is a blue urban camo.

Take care my friends and though you may have a good weekend, it won't be as good as the one I've had.

Oh, I should mention that the kilt is a "fashion tartan", box pleated, with side slash pockets and an under apron pocket. I will post better pics of the kilt when things quiet down a bit. Now it's back to the merrymaking.

    Cheers!!
    Gentleman of Substance

Looks like a grand party, wish I could have been there, thanks for the photos. I'm torn between liking the outfits and thinking where did all the sporrans go, are the endangered out on the left coast?

As an aside I really like the way Steve has pulled off the brown with the Isle of Skye, I've never tried it but I will soon.

Great pictures, looks like you had a super fiftieth birthday, including the party and the new kilt. Welcome to the 50+ club, but you are only as old as you feel, actual number of years lived has less to do with it. I will be 57 next month but in mind and body I feel like I'm a 37 year old

What a great surprise, your better-half did you proud. Definitely a keeper! All this and kilts too!
50 eh? Finally becoming an adult, soon you'll be allowed out on your own.
Just watch out for cheap cars and fast women; (or is it the other way 'round??)
