    first full week kilted

So I just got back from a week long boy scout summer camp. This was my first full week of kilt wearing, every single day. Most of the day I wore my tan original Utilikilt, and to dinner I wore a tartan, either black watch or Irish National.
first off I walked over 100 miles, (I used a pedometer), and the weather was great. It was in the low 80s all week with a nice breeze off the lake.

now I know there are Scouts out here and before beating me with the kilts and Class A uniform not mixing, I went as an assistant scoutmaster, (first time for that too). and it was a bit more lax on the dress code. I did also try very hard to look good. matching belts and sporran colors, nice socks, flashes. all that stuff.

any way, I had an incredible week, I was kilted the entire time and it was lots of fun.

they also had an archery competition where the range master was dressed as Robbin Hood, his assistant was Friar Tuck, and the top 3 shooters were the marry men, and I was a kilted marry man, hehe. I found it quite easy to use a bow while kilted and even have a quiver on our back too.

    lots of fun.

Sounds like you had a great time. My son's Troop is trying to talk me into going to week long camp with them as a Camp-master to a couple of brand new Scoutmaster and an Assist. SM. Been involved with Scouting as an adult for nearly 30 years though the last 8 or 9 have been mostly committee stuff. I do miss camping with the boys but I sure don't miss sleeping on the ground.

Any pictures of camp to share??

I only grabbed a few on my phone here they are:

thats the campsite I was in that overlooks the lake

I am my troop's fireman chit teacher and this is the product of flint and steel with a first year scout.

and finally my bed. the great thing about being 18 is not being allowed to tent with someone else hehe.

    it was a blast!

Well done, Casey! I went to Kilt Kamp last week. While i had intended to pack a pair of shorts, I didn't; so I had 11 days kilted.
