Hancock Fabrics sale
I skedaddled over to Hancock Fabrics for some pocket twill at lunchtime today and found their polyviscose suitings on sale at 50% off (regular price is $7.99/yard)! They don't have a big selection, but I picked up a nice purple plaid that I've been watching for a few weeks as well as the ubiquitous Black Watch.
I don't know whether this is a nationwide sale, so YMMV.

Can't answer if it is nationwide, but my wife and I have noticed that Hancocks, while excellent in most aspects, does stock according to region. When we travel to visit her brother in Iowa, we always take an extra suitcase, as the Iowa store carries a good variety of wool and wool blend fabrics. Here in North Carolina, no or almost no wool is carried. She needs the wool to keep her arthritis pain in check. So we stock up. (I seem to remember last time they also had wool-blend knit fabrics. I think we bought something around 30 yards altogether) Still it would be worth a look.

Not just Hancock. Our JoAnn stores here in Austin are the same. At either chain, you're hard-pressed to find more than 4 or 5 bolts of wool or wool blend.
[However, at JoAnn today, I found a beautiful saffron wool that screamed, "Buy me! Make an Irish!" Unfortunately it cost $18 per yard, a little rich for me this week, but I'll be checking frequently for a sale.]

The reason I know more about Hancocks than JoAnne's is that H is about 5 or 6 miles closer to home and the traffic is much less congested. Either I'm getting lazy in my old age, or too tight to spend the extra money for gas to drive further when I don't need to.
