Called about getting my SWK hemmed

Called a local seamstress (a bridal shoppe nearby) about hemming my kilt. The woman says she'll need to see it to give me a price. No problem. She then asks me if i know a man from the Colerain fire department that wears kilts. I don't. Just thought it was interesting that she thought i would.

Well there is a brotherhood between kilt wearers (for example XMarksthescot) so she's right to at least ask if you know another local kilt wearer. Maybe you can look the guy up and make a new friend. You never know.

Let me know how much she ends up charging to get the SWK hemmed. I know someone out here in Arizona that's going to go to a local seamstress and I'm just curious on the difference in price.

I've been using a seamstress out by me and she has been charging $30.00 a kilt. Excellent work for the money.

Suggest a herringbone stitch (there's an illustration from Barb T), about 1 stitch per inch. Smaller stitches make it real tedious, as I discovered.
