Ghillie Brogue and hose. Should I order a half size up?
For those of you that have purchased Ghillie's, did you order a size up to compensate for the thickness of kilt hose, or did you find that your "regular" size was fine?
I'm planning to purchase a pair from J. Higgins, and am not quite sure if I should add a half size or not.

Mine are all sized the same as my regular dress shoes. I find that the difference between "thick" socks and "regular" socks can be compensated for by how tightly one laces one's shoes.

I agree with McMillan. the hose didn't make much difference.
however, i did have to leave my ghillies with a local cobbler to stretch the leather a bit.
I have bunions, you see, and there were no half sizes available when I ordered mine.
otherwise, as is - out of the box, they were comfortable (for about an hour)!
now, they fit like a glove.
my point being, if you receive them, and they are a tad snug, you have the cobbler option. If they are very snug... pay for an additional shipping to return them!

Thanks for the input.
I just ordered a pair in my normal shoe size. Should have them by Tuesday.
