Funeral Piper needed in Charlotte
Any pipers in the Charlotte area amongst the XTMS kinsman?
Unfortunately, we moved my mom into Hospice care this past weekend and she is not long for this world. As a proud Scot, she has always expressed a desire for "Amazing Grace" to be piped at her memorial service, and wanted to see if anyone here might be in the area and be interested.

I'm sorry for your loss. I went through that too many times. I would ask on the bobdunsire pipe forum. I wish I could help, but am in Texas.

I don't know any piper's personally, however, I do know of an area band. Charlotte is about an hour and some change for them.. but you might be able to hire an individual from the group to pipe for you.

Hope this helps.

I'm so frustrated I have to vent.
Unfortunatley my mother's funeral will be tomorrow, the Saturday before St. Patrick's Day, and apparently there is not a single piper in all the land that is not obligated to play in a parade and able to play for a funeral. So the one and only thing she asked for her funeral, I cannot provide. I feel like an utter failure.

One suggestion. When my mother died a year and a half ago, we had a memorial party about a month later when friends and family could gather from around the country. We were fortunate to have Beloitpiper come to pipe for her.
You might want to consider a celebration of her life at some point after the funeral with a piper. Or a simple family gathering at her grave later on with the piper.
