    1 Jones satisfied-Here comes the other...AND STRONG!

    Hey y'all-
So I've worn my Matt Newsome kilt 3 days in a row. Its just that good-AND-Its perfect for the Georgia warmer climate. Pics tomorrow-Promise.

But I've surprised even myself. Being part of the Scottish "scene" pretty much all my life, I guess you tend to take for granite certain things. I've never been one to like tartans much. We are MACDONALDS, thus that was pretty much what my brothers I ever wore. It really wasn't until I saw the IoS tartan that I began to really pay attention. And once I got my designed "Browns of the South East" kilt finished, well I can certainly say that I'm REALLY in-love with searching down pretty and unusual tartans. So that brings me to this-

I decided to take a look at Irish tartans. I've known they've been there, but not having recent relatives from there, I didn't pay attention. So I checked them out on one of the makers sites...And I was BLOWN AWAY. Some are busy, but most were just INCREDIBLE. Really colorful!!! Check them out over at Linda Clifford's site. So here's my new jones-spending about a week picking the most beautiful Irish tartan, then getting back in line for another Box pleat......Its gonna be a LONG summer!!!

NorCalPiper, is your Matt Newsome box pleat in 16 oz. or 13 oz? I am going to put a box pleat next on my list and was particularly interested in your comment about it being perfect for the Georgia weather. That's a key issue for me down in Savannah.

    ?

You almost sound suprised that Irish tartans are great!

Aren't you afraid every moment you may spill something on your kilt? I can't yet imagin wearing an expensive kilt as everyday wear!

    Anyways congradulations!

Congratulations on spreading your kilt choices to your Irish side. Mine has some beauties as well and the choice will be very hard to make.
