Homecoming Scotland 2009
As you all know, Scotland celebrates the first ever Homecoming year.
It's a celebration of the 250th anniversary of Robert Burns birth, it also
celebrates Scotland's contributions to the world.
A programme of over 300 events and festivals will take place.
The central highlight of the Homecoming will be " The Gathering" set to be the greatest international clan gathering ever held.
Does anyone plan to come to Scotland for these events are you going to take part in the " The Gathering".
I would like to hear your plans.

I was there also, I met first minister Alex Salmond, a very nice chap.
A great day it was, also met two American clan chiefs.
Looking forward to the Clan Gathering.

I was honoured to be present at the 'Burns Light' lantern processions in Dumfries on 25th January (along with 10,000 others including guests who were at The Ferintosh Burns Supper the previous evening) - this was the first official event in The Homecoming programme and was also attended by Alex Salmond!
Not content with that, my pal Jim and I will be attending The Gathering weekend in Edinburgh in July. We booked accommodation and events 'Passports' last year and are looking forward to a great, but possibly tiring, few days up there.
Take care,
Ham.
