Need quick advice re hose
My son and I are piping for 30 minutes during registration/check-in at a charity golf tournament tomorrow morning. We're going to dress more casually than we might usually: black polos instead of dress shirts/waistcoats/ties. It's supposed to be like 83 and humid as all get out even at 6:30 a.m. Welcome to summertime in Kansas. We play from 7:30 till 8.
OK, so I'm wearing a black polo, and I'm leaning toward my Pride of Scotland kilt. Since it is a casual gig, I'm not planning on wearing my white piper hose.
My question is, since my shirt is black, do I need to wear black hose, or would my purple hose be okay since there's so much purple in the tartan?
Thanks for the help!

IMHO the purple hose would be great.

I love my black hose, but purple would do just as well.

I concur... it will all tie together, beautifully

I knew I'd get good advice. I don't think I can go wrong either way, but purple will sure look sharp. Thanks!
My 12-year-old, on the other hand, is wearing the white pipers' hose and won't even consider another color. Why? Well, because he's piping. Duh.
He takes this all very seriously. It took me 20 minutes to talk him into black polos instead of the band uniform.

I know I am sounding like a stuck record(you will probably have to explain to your son what one of those is!), but matching your hose with your shirt, or any other part of your attire for that matter, is really not necessary. In fact, I would suggest in most cases, quite the opposite!

I matched my hos, and my jacket for that matter, to what MacMillan of Rathdown suggested. It worked, too.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

I am now waiting patiently for a look at the diced and Argyll hose Matt says he might be getting. Wish there were other sources for "AFFORDABLE" Argylls
