    Kilted BASE jumper

Yesterday was Bridge Day, where they close the bridge crossing the New River Gorge and allow BASE jumping. I poked around a bit for a photo, but haven't found one yet. http://www.wvgazette.com/News/200910170345
For veteran Scottish jumper William Turner, Bridge Day was an opportunity to show pride in his home country by wearing a full kilt in his family's traditional tartan. He said he didn't know how his kilt would fare once he launched himself off the bridge. "We'll see what we see," he said with a wry smile.

Would love to go to Bridge Day. I have run both the New and Gauley Rivers many times.

    Here you go.

Man, there is nothing you can make me do to jump off a perfectly functioning bridge.

    Regards,
    Rex.

I'm with Rex. An airplane 800 ft AGL is one thing, but a bridge has too many obstructions to deal with.
I'm a well rounded guy - English motorcycles, Irish brew, and Scottish clothes and music.

He's a Macdonald, then. We do things like that, I guess.

I bunjee jumped for charity in my Kilt. Forgot to take the pin off and got whacked in the face.

Was hoping for a pic of him actually jumping. I'm working on getting video.
The bridge is over 800 ft, so there's 'plenty' of room.

Thanks for the photos. Love the Argyle sweater, sporran, and the hat - which appears to have stayed on through the back flip and deployment. He's sporting a BASE rig; methinks he's done this before.
