Custom made kilt pins?
Hello everyone,
I live in London (UK) and am looking for a possibility to have a kilt pin made with my family crest.
I have tried to google and look around but so far haven't been able to find any place that is willing to create your own unique piece of "jewelery"
Preferable I'd like it to be made of silver (its for my partners and my special day) but other materials would be ok as an alternative.
Let me know if anyone got a suggestion!

One name I could think of off the top of my head is Rab Gordon. He's mainly known for his excellent Sgian Dhus, but also makes jewelry.

I have bookmarked a couple of other great sites on my home laptop, but that's not available to me at the moment. I'm sure you'll get some other great suggestions and I'll log on later in the day once I track down the other links.

Hi Medran,
Firstly, welcome to XMarks from up in Norfolk.
Secondly, there is no such thing as a 'Family Crest', unless of course you are middle European. There is a Coat of Arms in the UK, but the rule is One Man = One Coat. That is to say that your father would have the coat of arms and you (and your brothers) would have the same coat with slight differences. There might very well be a coat of arms associated with your name, but it is not yours, unless it has been granted to you or your father or his father etc by the College of Arms or by the Lord Lyon in Scotland.
Sorry if this sounds a bit brutal, but if the arms aren't yours, then they belong to someone else.
If on the other hand you mean a Clan Crest Badge as an affiliation to your clan, I would advise going to the Clan first - they would probably already have had some made.
Regards
Chas

Hi,
and thanks for the welcome!
I should have probably mentioned why I said family crest.
I am from Germany and my family is a related to one of the families of the house of hannover.
My partner and me were looking at the option of going for his clan's crest(Runcie - sept of the Buchan clan).
So the idea was to see if we could get a kilt Pin made with my family crest.
My idea was having a sword overlayed with a shield engraved with the family crest.

Any Local jeweler should be able to make one of your design.
I had one made and it is beautiful.
Unfortunately it does cost more to make a one of a kind item.
