    Angry Lochcarrron Mill to Shut

    http://www.hawick-news.co.uk/news/Lo...hut.5749545.jp
Bad news indeed that Lochcarron are to close their factory here in Hawick in December, making all the staff redundant, a bitter blow for the workforce and for fans of Lochcarron.

I suspect that they have other mills. From their website, it seems that there might be a major facility in Selkirk.

Whew. Was just going to ask if they had others out there. Good to hear... but still not good news all told. Sounds like several mills in that area are going under?

That's really too bad. My very first piece of MacPherson tartan (a neck tie) was from Lochcarron.

Yes, Lochcarron's major operations are in Selkirk, so don't worry we should all still be able to get Lochcarron cloth. But what a blow for those in Hawick.
