Today is the anniversary of the Battle of New Orleans, 8 January 1815, and the heroic stand of the 93rd Regiment of Foot on the field of Chalmette:

As an American officer with Jackson said, "It was an act of cool determined bravery".

Lest we forget the bravery on both sides of Line Jackson.
