free kilt sock pattern
http://www.knitting-and.com/knitting...n-anderson.htm
Hi all,
Has anyone else tried this kilt hose pattern? My mother tried (and she is an accomplished knitter) and failed, the woman from the wool shop tried, failed, finally a third (professional sock-knitter) succeeded but admitted that it was the most complicated sock pattern she'd ever tried.
But...
They did work, and the result is amazing.
My mum chose the wool (NZ merino, nylon, alpaca and possum mix!), which is in itself just beautiful, and the pattern means no horrible, irritating thick seam in the toe, and fully incorporated extra reinforcement in the heel!
All up, nearly 300 (NZD) worth of socks!.. but they are just beautiful, one of the best (slightly late) christmas presents ever!
some pics of how they looked on the day (little sister's wedding last month), and some sort of close-ups. The "fluffiness" of the wool means you lose some detail when they aren't being worn, but you can still see the amazing patterns.
So proud, I just wanted to show them off!
Michael

and one of the couple, because they were so gorgeous!
