I haven't been online recently but for a few minutes at a time, so I didn't see this before now!
It looks absolutely wonderful! Yes, a world's first! After a millenium, it's about time, don't you think?
And after a bit of thought, it occurs to me that having a French influence in the project is absolutely appropriate: very probably, my ancestors were helped ashore by their own people, some of whom would have been Gordons.

The anticipation might deprive me of a bit of sleep, but that's perfectly fine by me!
EPITAPH: Decades from now, no one will know what my bank balance looked like, it won't matter to anyone what kind of car I drove, nor will anyone care what sort of house I lived in. But the world will be a different place, because I did something so mind bafflingly eccentric that my ruins have become a tourist attraction.

I got home to find a Delivery Notice card on our doorknob. That wouldn't be unusual except for the fact that our place is at the top of a long flight of stairs, through a leafy courtyard that you would never suspect from the street, and then along a sidewalk to the white door with a door knocker in the shape of a cat. Most posties would simply put the notice in the mailbox at street level, just inside the front gate. It helps to be known among co-workers at other depots miles from where I work.

Tomorrow I will find out if the card is for my kilt--I'm not expecting anything else. It says "parcel" but does not indicate any customs charges. Maybe I got lucky and the parcel wasn't inspected.

I think I will be racing through my route tomorrow. Oh, the anticipation!

    THE KILT HAS LANDED!

Sure enough, Customs didn't find it interesting, so there were no charges at all. Yes, there will be pictures [so it did happen!]

A little bit of steaming and it will be ready to wear. I haven't been able to put it away in the closet yet--I keep picking it up to admire it. This is one beautiful garment!

    Oh my!

    That is one beautiful tartan.

Fantastic colours and beautiful work. I wouldn't be able to put it down either.
