Kilts, ain't they grand!
On my way to the car after enjoying a wonderful patio brunch with my wife at a local pub Sunday, I was given a big smile and a wave by a woman driving past. I don’t know if she mistakenly thought she knew me or it was the fact I was sporting my black Survival Utilikilt. I’d like to believe it was the latter.

Its really cool when they hollar out, "Nice Utilikilt!" showing their knowledge...or when the pull over to intoduce themselves. Have experienced the former, but sadly, not the later.

I wore my Amerikilt to the amusement park with the kids on Monday. I was standing in line for my annual funnel cake and this lovely young lady struck up a conversation with me. She said "I figure I'm probably the only girl in Colorado who loves seeing men in kilts." Almost as if on cue, another young lady walked over to me, introduced herself, and said "That's so ***expletive starting with F*** HOT!!" She apologized to the girl I was already chatting with and walked away. The first girl had her newborn in arm, and I think the second maybe mistook me for the little guy's father. And those were not the only instances of feminine attention on that trip. Yeah... They are grand indeed!

When I was at the Jackson's Mill Arts and Crafts Show last Saturday, I wore my new Black Watch kilt. I had a few people look and smile, and a number more nod and smile in greeting. I don't remember receiving any smart or negative comments that day. In fact, at one point a small group of young folks passed by, and one turned around and said " Man, what a cool kilt"! It can be amazing what good reactions you can receive from people. I too, while standing in line, had a woman strike up a conversation with me about my kilt. Of course, my wife was standing beside me at the time, so the woman didn't say too much. But she did smile quite a bit. Absolutely, kilts are grand.
