Thanks for the advice, i saw the tutorials, I do not know my way around a sewing machine, I was hoping to find someone that could do the work for me, and I could pay them.

I believe some members have taken jackets to a tailor, shown them pictures of what a kilt jacket should look like, and had good results...

I just sent another to our own vmac3205 here. She does a great job. Send her a message. Her work is VERY good and prices very reasonable.

vmac3205 does good work in everything she touches. You can also find a local tailor who will be able to do the job with a little coaching, as mentioned above. It doesn't cost much, and the turn around is pretty quick.
If you have a copy of So You're Going to Wear the Kilt, there's a page in the back about doing exactly that, as I recall. You can also just show a few pictures and wear your kilt for the tailor to mark it, and you should find yourself pleased as any competent tailor can do it.
Slow photos when you get it done.

If you take the jacket to a tailor, take your kilt with you so they can mark the jacket while you are wearing your kilt.

I found an Irish tweed jacket with high, slanted pockets, double split in back, and nice buttons of a super color for my kilt. I took it to a tailor with a drawing of what I wanted. They simply shortened the coat.
I took it back and marked the coat in chalk with the precise curve I wanted. They made a straight diagonal cut, stating it would look better that way, and ruined the coat entirely; a shame.
I think I'd take documentation, mark in chalk, and also a photo of yourself in kilt and kilt jacket, so they understand what is needed. Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand instructions.

Here's a conversion that I have, made by Victoria (vmac3205). Orignally made for Alan H.
I just found a black suit coat in my size at a thrift store for $3.50. I'm sending it along with a black vest for Victoria to do her magic on.
