I just woke up from a strange nightmare...

The fact that I have a Church piping gig early this morning, and that late last night I laid out the kit I'll wear (Isle Of Skye kilt and charcoal grey Argyll jacket) probably has something to do with it!

In the dream, I've shown up at some sort of Scottish-themed function at a Church hall or some such. I've come in street clothes, so the first trouble is finding a place to change into my kilt.

When I find a place, I put on the shirt I'll wear with my kilt and I notice it's not the one I thought I had brought- instead of dark blue-grey it's a very pale violet.

The real surprise comes when I put on my kilt and notice that it's not my Isle of Skye kilt at all, but a khaki utility kilt!!! So I have to pipe at this function wearing a lavender shirt and a khaki cotton kilt.

Thing is, I've never worn a utility kilt.

What a strange dream...
