Sgian dubh from Taygrd
Just received my sgian dubh crafted by Taygrd. Firstly let me say that the way it was presented in the package was nearly as exciting as the sgian dubh its self. It was wrapped in plastic and bubblewrap, tied with a piece of tartan, and held together with a kilt pin. Also included was a Certificate of Cratmanship and details on looking after the sgian dubh.
So without further ado, the photos

The sgian is lighter than it looks and the sheath, although thicker than the average leather one, fits niecly in the hose, and me having big calves does not look abnormallly thick. The coating on the sheath is not uncomfortable in any way. I contacted Taygrd after seeing his thread on the sgian dubhs he made as I love lapis, and together with the water buffalo horn and silver metal I knew I just had to have it.
Hopefully I will be able to get some action shots of the sgian dubh and my new Box pleat kilt this weekend, at the 150th Maryborough Highland Games and Tattoo

I missed this auction by about 1 hour! I was very disappointed at first, but I'm glad another Xmarks member got it

Awesome sgian dubh Downunder Taygrd does great work & is priced right, there are sometimes when I've felt as though he was giving his work away. I know that sgian will last you a lifetime, thanks for sharing

Great.. Thanks a lot... Now I have yet another item on my wish list.
Sarcasm aside, that is a beautiful sgian, and I believe that I will be getting one similar to that one this year. Too nice not too. Wow. My sgian is nice, but that thing is beautiful!
Yeah, I'm jealous
