Tweed Jackets for Conversion to Kilt Jackets
I've noticed that Armstrong Vintage Clothing Emporium out of Edinburgh has a good selection of old tweed jackets, most of which have double vents (also called side vents); these are often more wasp-waisted as well. Few have patch pockets, but I did see one. Quite a selection of Harris Tweed there. They can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/armstrongvintageclothing
or at their internet store at http://www.armstrongsvintage.co.uk/
From time to time they have old tweed kilt jackets as well, as do many others on the online auction sites.
