2011 Kiltmaking classes
Does anyone know if there are any scheduled kiltmaking classes slated for the Eastern US/Canada for 2011? I'm not having much luck finding any updated info.
Ṃran, ṃran taing,
Only 9 notes. How hard could it be?

I was just looking for that today, although I've not found anything yet. Last year there was one in Ontario 'cottage country' and there are always ones in Nova Scotia, depending on how far you'd like to travel. Perhaps some of the members from Toronto can gives us a heads-up on any that happen there (I've not heard of any in the past).

Last year there was one in Haliburton Ontario. I'll see if I can find any info.
It mentions that there will be kilt making again this year, but I don't see it explicitly on the calendar. I'm sure you could contact them to get further details.

That's the one I was thinking about. Couldn't remember where it was held last year. Thanks.
There's also the one in the Gaelic College in Nova Scotia. http://www.gaeliccollege.edu/
I was just looking at the both of them and neither have kiltmaking listed for this year, but things change. I did see that there are kiltmakers at the Gaelic College...

No there's not.
I think the Gaelic College had one a few years ago, but that's been it. I tried two years ago to put one together but never heard back from the kiltmaker in New Hampshire.

Thank you very much for the info, everyone! I was trying to find info on the Braemar School of Highland Dance & Kiltmaking, but they're info is from last year and when I try to get to their website, I keep ending up on a Facebook fan/member/club page. ? ? ? Not quite sure what that's all about, but I haven't given up yet. I was secretly hoping that someone here in X Marks would have all that info.
Still hoping . . . ,
PS: Dixiecat! Love NS! I used to fly with a major regional airline and that was my absolute favorite over-night!!! I discovered Canadian Tire there, too! Love that store. Wish we had that kind of place here in the States, but I think it'll take a while before 'we' figure it out. LOL!

Well, that's disappointing.

In the actual calendar I don't see it listed, but if you refer directly to the page that I quoted, it does mention kiltmaking as one of the events for the 2011 year...

Good news. Last year I couldn't because the cost came in at around $700 all in. A bit much for the financially handicapped.

Not East Coast, but Elsie Stuehmeyer has a weeklong workshop coming up in June. I think you actually make a kilt during the workshop.
