Ghillies Gal in Dallas
Hello. Obviously I'm a newbie. So, without further delay....
My name is Christa. I live outside of Dallas. I am a member of the Scottish Society of Dallas. I am currently the editor of the Society's newsletter, The Dallas Scotsman. I am also an active member of the Dallas Highland Dancers and have been highland dancing for 6 years now (hence the name Ghillies Gal). I am also the webmaster for the DHD website, to be found at www.dancingkilts.com. I am a divorced mother of 2 beautiful children who don't appreciate their Scottish heritage as much as I do, but I'm working on that with them.
My Scottish heritage is all about the Keiths. Although the Keith suname hasn't been in the family for three generations I still claim the clan as my own (my GGrandmother was Emmaline Keith). My other heritage includes a sprinkling of Irish, Welsch, Czech and, of course, German.
I'm excited to keep up with all the news and events that xmarksthespot has to offer as well as to meet other folks as excited about their Scottish heritage as I am.
Thanks for having me!
~Christa

Welcome to the Forum from a fellow Metroplex resident
"My beloved America, thank you for your children. If your children want to become soldiers I will train them. When they are hungry I will feed them. When they are thirsty I will give them water. When they fight for freedom I will lead them. When they are unsteady on the battlefield I will motivate them. If they die on the battlefield I will bury them. So help me God."
