Suggestions on kilts in St. Louis, MO

Any suggestions on any local stores in the St. Louis, MO metro area to buy kilts? Since the sale of the Thistle and Clover last year, they seem to be de-emphasizing Scottish wear. Thanks for any suggestions.

    Howdy neighbor, from Ellisville/Ballwin.

I haven't found a single place in the area for kilts or accessories. We still have to rely on T&C and go up there to see if they have any sales going, or for hose and jewelry. Was happy to see that they started carrying some Buzz Kidder sporrans (at a fair price too). If I hear of any other shops, I'll be sure to let you know.

Is the Thistle and Clover the shop in the historic district in St. Charles? Only been there once the summer before last when my cousin got married. It was a nice shop with friendly people from what I remember. Have they closed, or just changed? I was wanting to head down there this summer. But maybe not?

It is the same shop on Main Street in historic St. Charles. It changed ownership last fall. Nothing against the new owners, the last time I was there a few weeks back (and I may have just been there on a bad day) couldn't really get anybody to talk to me about a kilt question I had.

Darn, that's too bad. We were in there twice over the weekend that we were down for my cousin's wedding, and they were very helpful. Even bought a new pair of hose from them. Hopefully it was just an off day for them when you were in. I don't know of any other shops anywhere near the St. Louis or Peoria area

I am not aware of any other merchants of Highland attire in St. Louis; there is J. Higgins in the KC metro area (Lenexa, KS), but I'm not sure if they have a storefront now or not.

I was planning on stopping into the store on my way to Columbia, MO in a few weeks. Would it be worthwhile stopping in and have a look around? Most of my purchases for kilts and accessories have been from online.

Andrew, I would still stop by. You may see something that you can't live without. I've been so busy over the last few weeks that I still have not stopped back by, but as suggested above, I may have just hit them on a bad day. I want to support our local businesses (especially for kilts!).
