Sadly, Bob Mackenzie passed away this week. Although not a member of this forum, he was a regular at the vancouver kilt nights. Bob will be remembered for his great humour and his mean playing of the spoons. His life was one of service to the community as a nurse and a teacher. Despite his many health issues over the last number of years you could count on Bob's company at the pub. He loved live celtic music and always seemed to end up dancing with the prettiest woman in bar - most of them were 50 years his junior. I will miss my conversations with Bob and the way he always greeted everyone with a big warm smile. A humble man with a big heart. There will be no service but a few of us would like to have a kilted night out in his honour. Maybe a dram in his memory at Doulin's or the Trap when one of his favorite bands is playing?
Sad news. I only met Bob a couple of times but he was a cheerful and friendly man to me.
I am assuming that this is not the Bob MacKenzie of Bob & Doug MacKenzie fame.
His Exalted Highness Duke Standard the Pertinacious of Chalmondley by St Peasoup Member Order of the Dandelion Per Electum - Non consanguinitam
Bob did enjoy that he shared his name with the SCTV characters. I do remember him saying once that he was the original Bob MacKenzie
Condolences.
It is very disturbing to see a headline of your own demise- Robert (Bob) McKenzie I hope that my friends say such nice things about me when I do pass on.
