My Xmarks tartan kilt
Just made this yesterday. It's a four yard box pleat (we really need an abbreviation for that) in Marton Mills PV. Machine sewn, but the pleats are sewn from behind to keep the stitches invisible (tutorial coming soon)
One of my pups was thoroughly confused as to why I kept running across the room, tagging the camera, and running back.
I made the fringe from a sold grey fabric because I forgot to save a wide enough strip of the Xmarks tartan... I think I might make this a feature on all the kilts that I make for myself.
Forgive the creases in the pleats - I wore it to work today.
Had to post this one... Just for the view of the pup.
Best part of day one in this kilt? I was crossing the road, and a car full of women honked, "woo'd" and shouted "sexaay!"
So I guess the public approves

Nicely done, even if your friend seems unimpressed in the last photo.

I like the look of the different fringe! Interestingly, your sofa seems to be a predecessor. What we call "inside-out" in the furniture business, where the cushions are a different color/fabric from that of the frame. How old is "pup" btw? He looks big!

Very nice! Stokes my fire to get back to work on my own. Now if I could just find time. Really love the fringe. Great touch, even if it was done out of necessity.
Looking forward to the tutorial too. Very interested to see this reverse machine sewing I've read about lately.

Looks great! I like the look of the solid fringe idea!
