Kilt Length - Above Knee or Mid-Knee?
I've come across a number of company sites including Scotweb that offer two options for kilt length and I'm curious to hear a range of opinions on this subject. Do you prefer above knee or mid-knee? What are your reasons for preferring one or the other? Is it just down to personal preference? Is one length more traditional than the other? Which do you think looks best?

I put mine on at the top of the kneecap because after a couple of hours it's mid-knee anyway.
Then I hitch it back up.

I'm a top of the knee kind of guy, but I like to show off as much leg as possible... it's all I've got left to show for the hours I used to spend on the ice playing hockey.

Mine is at the top of the knee to not more than an inch above. My pub kilts tend to be higher than my better wool kilts. My best wool kilts tend to be right at the top of the knee. I find if any lower the hem of the kilt gets uncomfortable hitting the knee cap or back of the knee.

I like mine juuuuust at the top of the knee.
No kidding. The last time a friend helped me measure for a kilt, I drew a line on my leg right at the top of my kneecap so she'd get the length just right.

Top of the knee for me, as well. Why? I think it looks a bit better there and, as Father Bill notes, it tends to ease downward over time. Starting at the top of the knee means I have to hitch the kilt up a little less frequently.

I go top of the knee as others have said, my hose are pulled up 3 fingers below my kneecap, my reasoning for the kilt sitting at top of my knee is because if it's much lower it feels like it wraps around my legs as I walk and feels constricting to me.

Top of the know, because I'm a traditionalist and that's where it should be .
