    Threads Past.

Over the last few weeks I have been taking life a bit steady, for no particular reason other than I have more time on my hands than usual. What !? "Even more time than you already have?" I hear some of you say and you would not be wrong.

Anyway, purely by accident, I ended up looking at a thread from four or five years ago and it made interesting reading. So I have spent more time looking and reading these historic threads and several things came to my mind. Firstly, I was reminded of names of some interesting and often humorous members who no longer post here, for all sorts of reasons. And I miss them. Secondly, there were very interesting subjects being discussed and the thought did occur that many new members would do well to read the discussions. Thirdly, I think that there was rather more humour and respectfull leg pulling going on in those far off days. Make no mistake some, a few, discussions were not all sweetness and light, but the large majority were extremely polite and informative and from many perspectives. I also think that some threads went on rather longer than they do today and on the whole the subject was discussed to a deeper and broader depth than we do today.

All in all I can recommend present members , long and short term, when they have time to spare, to delve into those distant threads , mainly kilt connected, and they might usefully while away an hour or six. And it all can be done without having the search facility, just click onto the pages past such as 2-9-15 find an interesting subject and follow the thread through.
