What is the opposite of a buckle?

Re: 2012 Goals
- Have fun throwing.
- Compete more this year.
- Take my act on the road. It's been a while since I threw under the shadow of the Queen Mary or in Vista.
- Set more age-specific PRs.
- Stay injury free.

So right in the money. Can I just steal your goals?

Re: 2012 Goals
Lose 10 pounds (any more and I would have to have all my kilts taken in)
Survive 5 days of snowboarding in Snowmass next week, with Wife and both my boys, big(23yrs) and little (3yrs).
Shoot at least one four birdie round and at least one round under 80 (golf for those who had not figured that out)
Haul the other 10 or so members of Team Codie (named after Wife's first son who died of leukemia 11 yrs ago this spring) around the 150 mile two day bicycle ride and raise at least $2000 in donations for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society while doing so (at 6'5" and 270# everybody gets to draft off of me and I get no benefit trying to draft off anybody else because they are all smaller than me)
*toughest goal* raise $10,000 in pledges and ride the weeklong 700+ mile Million Dollar Challenge Ride from San Francisco to San Diego to raise money for the Challenged Athlete Foundation to honor the memory of my recently deceased friend John, who used to do the ride himself but recently passed away from aggressive and advanced abdominal cancer
Make it to at least 3 Highland Games
Survive until at least New Years Day 2013
And do at least some of the above things kilted.
Going to be a pretty challenging year. Especially since I am off to a slow start already.

Re: 2012 Goals
I have a certain belt buckle which wholesales for about $10.50 ... from an event I did in 2008 and it's probably the single most treasured physical object that I own. Well, maybe my house....
But WAY more valuable to me than my truck, for instance...

The buckles are pretty popular for the ultras in the US. Ive done some 50 milers that gave hand made pottery bowls for finishers awards, that was pretty nice. I must say though that I wear one I worked hard for. In any of my photos posted here with me using my brown leather sporran and brown belt the buckle is silver and brass. It was for finishing Leadville Trail 100 miler in Leadville Colorado. To get a buckle you had to finish under 30 hours. Any medal or buckle or other finishers award is always a nice item to remember your work and pain to achieve it. Im sure in the Highland Games they give some form of award, all well deserved for the training and effort.

Re: 2012 Goals
I just want to get started. Still have some weight to lose and tossing around rocks seems fun.
Fell in love with it when i went to my first highland games in orlando.
