    Christmas present for my brother

Here's a sgian I put together as a gift for my brother. He's not kilted that much yet, but dad and I are working on it. I figure a slick lookin sgian for his hose top would help a bit. Plus "babe, it's a present for my brother, I have to work on it" was a convenient justification to do a bit of woodworking instead of laundry

    Without further ado....

Handle is Red Maple Burl on the 'outside' face, with stainless steel and buffalo horn accents. 'Leg-side' face is buffalo horn. Blade is Damascus steel from Caulfield Leather (outstanding customer support I might add)

Fuzzy close up of the handle. (The camera and I were in a fight.)

Side view to show the half-and-half maple burl and buffalo horn.

Lessons learned: Buffalo horn is best worked in a well ventilated area due to the fact that it stinks to high heaven.
