Button choice for bias cut waistcoat?
I am down to choosing between basic black or having some buttons cut from a piece of antler I own.
This is going to be made in a mostly green tartan, with a relatively high neckline and five or six buttons for wear with a four in hand type tie.
I am thinking most of the time it will be worn jacketless, that is just kilt, shirt, tie and waistcoat.
Second less frequent mode would be to add a tweed jacket.
I don't see gold colored buttons working for me. Silver colored buttons would be a possibility, but perhaps more blingy than my usual style.
So basic black buttons? My concern is that chopping up a bit of antler might be too rustic.
Thanks.
