Thanks! My tartan is special order for weights over 10 oz., though that's heavy enough for a waistcoat. I like the look of bias cut waistcoats ok, but I think I want to go with something simpler.

You could approach your favored Highland dress retailer and have them order a waistcoat for you made from one of Lochcarron's solid color options, chosen to tone with one of the colors of your tartan.
