Re: "Old Sporran" on eBay, yikes, 1700s?

Why are we still talking about this hideous, non-sporran? I am amazed at how long this discussion as lasted on the fourm. Hahaha!

    Cheers,
It's fun and fairly non-confrontational, unlike the dreaded "W" word when discussing hose.

I just think it's interesting the lengths the seller seems determined to go to in order to sell this thing as a sporran.

5 days to go on the auction and its up to $122.00!?

It would be curious to see the thing up close . . . but not over $100 worth of curious.

I'm not a historian, by a long shot (I only play one on t.v.).
    My question is:

    What the hell is that?!!!!!

If I were to bid on this, could I wear it with my kilt, white hose and a flat cap*? I could dress up the ensemble with a regular length suit coat I have, perhaps with some medals I bought at the pawn shop on it. And a fly plaid. And a dirk, or maybe a sword.

*indoors of course. Outdoors I'll wear a pith helmet and a feather bonnet* AT THE SAME TIME! MUAHAHAHAH!

*My feather bonnet also has red-and-white :dicing on it to show my allegiance to Ralston/Purina.
