Jock.... at one of the more recent census, about 15% of Canadians self identified as having Scottish ancestry. Btw that means there are more Scottish descendants in Canada than there are Scottish citizens. I can only suspect that due to the Highland clearances the descendants of Highlanders in Canada would be even a much greater %.
