I'll bet there is more than one place who will let us come in to spend our money for a Burns supper. In fact, I know another very nice place a half block away owned by a very nice Irish lady who'd be glad of the business. It's a little snazzier place, but they'll let us if the pub won't! This is our supper and it's our money.
How 'bout it, Splash and SouthernScot and the rest of you guys? Is the 27th out for everybody?
Either date is fine with me.

Those little critters ain't too smart anyway. If they were, they wouldn't accept the invitation to the supper.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go order a sheep's stomach.

Clan Gregor bringing up the rear...
Hey dudes,
Just thought I'd pipe in to say I am monitoring the situation, and if it occurs that there is need for another smelly scotchman for the Burns Supper...uh, or whatever... Conyers may very well be within reach. January is still a bit off the radar yet, as I am still trying to deal with Christmas, but simply being on a Saturday will do for me.
I also know of several of our Clan Gregor members (some Great Kilt wearin' dudes, too!) in the area that might also be interested...I dont know if they are X-marks members, but would they be welcome? Or could I bring them as guests in the event I am able to make it? I promise we wont steal your sheep... (your whusky on the other hand I cant make any promises for).
Anyway... that is all. Thanks.
Here's tae us, Whas like us... Deil the Yin!

I'm good for the 20th. I just looked and found that the 27th I was working so I wouldn't have been able to make it that day anyway but the 20th I'm good !!

Bring 'em on
You and all the Gregors are welcome. (We'll lock up the sheep, cattle, and dogs). Bring your women, too. I'm beginning to think this is gonna be a really good supper. We'll be passing out tasks later.
When January gets here, we'll start to get real reservations so the pub can plan the food and tables. I really hope you can make it. We'll be just off I-20, so it'll be easy to find, and I do recommed either a motel or a designated driver.
"This could be the start of something beautiful." (Bogey in Casablanca)
BTW, kilts aren't actually required, but we'll dog anyone in pants! And if you like to dress up, do so.
The fair will be standard: cock-a-leekie soup, haggis, neaps and tatties, bannocks, sherry trifle. There'll be a bit of the aqua vitae for toasts and such too, as well as the bar from which you can get anything you're big enough to handle.
The posts will keep comin', an' a' that, an' a' that. int:

How about an alternative entree for those of us who are vegetarian, and a dessert for those who do not take alcohol?

Clean living folk
I should have mentioned the alternative fare ( I think I misspelled it earlier; it was late; I was tired; I am old):
* There'll be another meat for the sissies. (That's already in the works.)
* We'll offer something else for non-meat eaters.
* Drinking of alcohol is not a requirement! We may joke about drunkenness, but it's not a drunken orgy! Tea, coffee, Cokes, water, etc. will be available, and any alcohol is at your own expense. I drink water with meals.
This is primarily a celebration of the immortal memory of Rabbie and a celebration of things Scottish. If you aren't really familiar with Burns's poetry, you have really missed something.

I definitely wouldn't ask you guys to move the date on my account, but if the 20th turns out to be a better date for everyone, it works better for me. As for my excuse for the 27th.... its my daughter's birthday and I wouldn't miss it for a Burns supper in the highlands... sorry lads. Keep me posted on the details, and if I miss this one, there will be others. We should make this a regular thing.
Merry Chirstmas to all of you.

OK, this is getting serious. It sounds like the 27this a problem for some, but the 20th is nae problem for anyone. If it is, please speak now or forever hold yer peace! It's the 20th is unanimously better, I'll set to work changing the date immediately.
And, Scot, if you miissed your daughter's birthday, we'd have you publicly flogged, drawn, and quartered. Priorities must prevail!
thanks guys, now let me hear from the rest.
