It's important to remember that while Montgomery Scott will be born in Scotland in the year 2222, James Doohan was born in 1920, a Canadian of Irish desent, and as nice a gentleman as I've had the honor to meet.

You forgot to mention that he was also a veteran of the Second World War with the Canadian forces, and was wounded during the Normandy landings.

Close! I'm not sure what he is wearing either, but the Cairn you have shown is amazingly close. The black fields aren't quite right.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that Scotty's accent was based on a radio operator from Aberdeen that Doohan knew during the war.
