new to kilts-need feedback
This is my first post to this forum. I am also new to the world of kilts. I've always though the kilt was both an attractive garmet and one that would be very comfortable to wear but I had not previously actually took the leap and bought one. I'm getting married soon (on August 4th to be precise. Holy crap, its only a couple of weeks away now) and I decided I wanted to go through the ceremony kilted. I knew next to nothing about kilts when I started shopping. I ordered the kilt from Clansmen Knitwear. I wish I would have found this place before I had done so because a lot of people have had issues with this company. They had been recommended to me by someone I thought I could trust though and the prices seemed reasonable. I actually didn't have any huge issues with them given that they shipped the kilt out earlier than they said it would take (there was some kind of mixup on the shipping and it got sent back to them. they corrected the problem though it took them a little time to do so, still I got my item). The kilt is a 8 yard wool kilt and as far as I can tell its nicely made. Its made in the fergusson. My mother's maiden name is Fergusson and we can trace our ancestroy all the way back to scottland though our branch of the family has been in the states for a long, long time. I also got the kilt hose, highlander shirt (it will be an informal wedding), hose flashes and sporran through this company. I was not fond of the sporran. Having found this community by this point I had a much better idea what I wanted and ordered a different one from USA Kilts (which arrived amazingly fast, I honestly wish I would considered them for the actual kilt. maybe in the future. Anway now that I have the whole outfit that I will be wearing together I wanted to get some feedback from those who actually know something about wearing kilts. I'm going to link to a couple of picks of me in the outfit below. If any of you have any tips or advise for me please share. thank you.
