We look forward to it. I'll share a pint with you.

First, condolences on your loss. Second welcome to the forum. Third, wear your PC. I am not sure of the customs in the Rockies,, but here on the East coast, it is normal for the family of the deceased to be in very formal attire for the services and the funeral. For some funerals here, if not for the casket, one would think it was a wedding going on in the church.
The fact that it is a military send off is even more reason to go PC.
Be well
Steve

Like Nighthawk, condolences from a fellow Coloradoan. Lost my father years ago, and it was tough. You honour your father simply by wanting to do the right thing by him at this time. You will not be doing any wrong by wearing a P.C. Best regards to you and your family.

PC at a funeral
A decenting voice perhaps, but let me say this; as others have remarked about not wearing the kilt to church so as not to provide a distraction, you may want to consider that this is your father's day and a day for all who wish to honor and remebmber him. It may be wise to forego the kilt to allow the thoughts of all present to focus on your father. While I am sure that you are a proud legacy for your father, it is he that all seek to honor and cherish at his funeral. I would perhaps choose a more conventional mode of dress for this event and wear the kilt to honor his memory at a later event, a wake or other event to honor his memory. My condolenscenses for your loss,
Respectfully,
David

Thanks for your reply Kiltedsawyer, Actually it was my entire family that asked if I was going to wear my kilt. I understand about not drawing attention to myself at this time. But I also wanted to respect the wishes of my mother. I know this is a convoluted issue and I appreciate your input.

First a welcome and condolences on your sad loss. I can see no reason not to wear your PC and you may want to wear a normal black tie in place of a bow tie because it is daytime.

I am sorry to read of your sad loss.If your family, particularly your mother, are content for you to wear the kilt and PC then it is no business of anyone else.Having said that, is there any way that you could borrow an Argyll as I really do think that would be better.
