Did you find the sizing of SWK to be accurate? I ordered according to my naval measurement (40") and the only option I had was for a 42". My wife is an excellent seamstress and can make any minor adjustments, but if it is waaay oversized I won't have time to get a replacement.
Any thoughts from the rabble?
Oldun,
I have 5 of Jerry's kilts (3 heavyweights and 2 standards). I am a just about exactly a 36" waist and all 5 fit me well. However the waist measurement Jerry gives for his kilts is for the tightest setting. I could easily gain an inch of girth and still be able to wear those kilts by using the furthest strap holes.
I hate to say this but I think that the 42" waist is going to be far too big for you.
When your kilt arrives there will be a line of white stitches at the bottom of your kilt holding all the pleats together. This is called a basting stitch. Do not remove this stich until you have tried on your kilt. If it doesn't fit fold it up nicely and email Jerry to see what he can do about an exchange or refund. He needs that basting stitch to be in place in order to give and exchange or refund.
If the kilt fits well then go ahead and remove it (carefully)
Hope this was of help.
Cheers
Jamie
