Over in the thread I started on this shoe saga, it was pointed out that the shoes being advertised as oxfords were technically bluchers because of the exposed lacing.

I may look into that for black tie formal shoes if it ever comes up; thanks for the suggestion.
I was not impressed with any of the Target shoes and they were in that price range. I ended up going with a higher quality pair of dress shoes from a shoe store.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

I'm sure Panache wouldn't approve, although he's never criticized them to my face, but I wear black moc style boat shoes for almost everything, including with my kilt(s). I do have some rather nicer, shinier Italian things, but they aren't very comfortable; I'll probably wear them if I go to the NorCal Burns Supper.

Bringing the thread back on topic(sort of) you can see my next sporran in progress over on DIY titled Badger Alert.

You know... I can't seem to aquire a taste for full mask sporrans. It's like Led Zeplin. There's just that something that I can't quite put my finger on that bugs me. BUT- I look forward to seeing it finished, because like Zep, I totally appreciate and enjoy the artistry involved.

And by the way- your avatar brings back a lot of memories of 48 hour Godzillathons when I was in high school. And there were the Monty PyThons... and the Trek-a-thons...
