I was working 72hrs a week as a Medic and at least 16hrs a week as a Police Officer. I moved to FL because I was under the thought I could do the jobs I loved and make a better life for my family. However I am still trying, but I have been working since we moved here, mostly for Spencer Gifts as a Sales Supervisor where I make the same as I did as a Paramedic in IL but with more benifits. I am trying to get back into EMS or as a Police Officer, however I am sure some of you are aware they do not pass out these jobs like candy. My wife (Scottish Mommy) works at Target and has also been trying to get on the Ambulance Service as she is an EMT, she also has tried to get another part time job just as I, but we all know how great the job market is. I just wish that some day some of my family would step back and judge themselves before they judge others. To them everyone I choose to be friends with are "weird" , "Strange", or my favorite "one of those people", still not sure what the blue h*** that one means. Hope you all had a great turkey day, other than the BS with the family the meal was good, I did get looked at strange because I had sushi with my turkey, hey they picked the buffet not me.
...wait... The family get's down on you for working as a police officer? Are they serious?!?! If it weren't for you, my children would be dead 10 years ago. Words can't express the disgust I now have for your "family." I'm sorry to sound harsh, but you are a hero, weather you just handed out traffic tickets or worked on a SWAT team. You put your life on the line for a pregnant woman and a little girl that you didn't know, nor would ever see again, and just because it was your job. My 12 year old daughter and my 10 year old son and I thank you from the bottoms of our hearts. How sickening that someone would actually get down on you for doing those kinds of things... and how sad that the pay and benefits are better working for Spencer's.
