    Another adventure

24hrs after our folk club outing to Ludlow, Elaine and myself were heading on the eurostar to France (Quimper in Brittany). Elaine was recording on a new Celtic album to be released later this year. Its a compilation album of the most popular celtic songs and Elaine is singing The Welsh National Anthem in welsh then in breton with a breton choir and also Amazing Grace with a fab pipe band. Other artists with tracks on the cd include Capercaille, Mary Black, Runrig and many others.
Here a few pics from the trip.

Then we took to a little cafe we know close to Montparnasse Station where we had to get the French TGV to Quimper

Breakfast the following morning in the hotel before we were being picked up and taken to the Studio

The studio was way out in the country and built inside an old barn building attached to this lovely property.

Then we headed for some Crepes here. It was such a cosy place it was hard to leave.

We decided we would leave Quimper early the next so we could have half a day in Paris before returning home.
4.45am and we are waiting in the hotel lobby waiting for the station to open a 5am. The station was just across the road.

Loads of walking and several hours in Paris

Then it was back to Gare du Nord and waiting for the eurostar to take us back to London

    Then it was home.

Well done Derek and Elaine! The album will be a 'cracker' no doubt and will be on my shopping list.

Your atmospheric photos reminded me of our great trip together to Brittany and Paris a couple of months ago. WHAT! Two months ago? I just cannot believe it, and I've still not posted the photos I took nor told the tale of that unexpected meeting in Lorient! I really MUST do something about that.

Thanks again for letting us all in on your travels.

    Take care,
    Ham.
