Well, I just fold the cuff down once, which is the way they are meant to be worn. I don't find them excessively long. The cabled part of the cuff measures just a tad over 4".
Of course, I have long legs, and what looks good on me may be too long for someone with shorter legs.
This can be adjusted a few different ways, such as folding the cuff over twice, or putting an accordian fold in the hose leg itself before the cuff is folded over.
Believe it or not, even with my long legs, I have had hose in the past that I needed to fold over multiple times (not the Lewis hose, though), so I know there are ways to handle it.

Yes, it is easily handled by doubling over, no problem. I measure about 5.5" for the cable on my small size Lewis hose.
