    Thumbs up

    Oh yes to all of the delicious food and drink. On returning to Barracks, when stationed in Edinburgh, we would always stop for Haggis and Chips on the way.

    Everything but the butteries - not sure what they are as it's not a term I have heard.

    Do you mean "butties" (sandwiches) that are called "pieces" in parts of Scotland?

    I've only had haggis, I love it. I think it can be compared to scrapple to give you an idea -- don't know if they have scrapple in your part of the country.

    to me, scrapple tastes more like scottish square sausage than haggis.

    dammit, now I've made myself hungry again.
    I'd kill for a slice of sausage in a roll.

    I've had:
    Stovies in Scotland;
    Haggis in Scotland;
    Haggis, tatties, and neeps in the U.S.;
    Irn Bru in the U.S.; but,
    No butteries or tunnocks anywhere.
